With Elliot from izzy, you can stand or sit in the new office footprint
Mobile technology users at home in elegant, simple work+side table
CHICAGO - June 2009 - It's 2009, people. It's time to turn away from the corner and face your neighbors. All you need is a new edge from izzy to embrace the smaller, easy-to-manage footprint of today's New Workstyles.
"In this new digital way of working, your projects travel with you from space to space. For this mobile worker, you simply need a work table and a piece of storage next to it where you can pile your stuff. It is the new office," says Joey Ruiter, designer of the new Elliot height-adjustable table for izzy. "Even the names we use in the industry today - tables, furniture - it's so much more like the home furnishings world, very human-centered. We're recovering from a time when the office became a group of products that wasn't very human."
Elliot's worksurface design blends the L-shaped laminate top into a seamless space that adds a left or right-handed side table.
Elliot also returns a human-centered element to the traditional corner workstation by facing people into the open plan to facilitate workplace collaboration. "It's the soft urethane edge of the work surface that brings people into the collaborative space, away from the wall," says Ruiter. "It's like approaching a high table in a restaurant - approachability is inherent in the design."
Elliot by izzy injects elegance into height-adjustable worksurfaces, opting for clean, sleek mechanisms that complement instead of visually interrupting the business of work. Elliot's electronic mechanism for height adjustability expands from 27 to 52.25 inches tall at its full height, providing a full range of sit-to-stand work style options. The base design allows multiple types of work surfaces to pair up with Elliot, underneath or adjacent to its footprint. reinforcing the versatility of izzy's collections based philosophy.
BIFMA approved, Elliot is designed for long-lasting use and a positive impact on indoor air quality. The solid cast aluminum materials offer few parts and pieces, increasing overall product resilience. Lack of weldments enable easier breakdown for post-life use.
